Caroline Haynes has been Director of Tennis for the Maryville, Tennessee Parks and Recreation Department for 35 years. She holds a bachelor's degree from Rollins College and a Master's degree from Louisiana State University. She served as coach of the Maryville College tennis team from 1977 to 1980. In addition to the many players Haynes has mentored at the public tennis center in Maryville, Haynes has a stellar and long career in USTA Adult and international competition. She has been nationally ranked since 1980 and most recently won third place at the USTA National Indoors Championship in Vancouver, Washington in 2017. She has played on the Tennessee Senior Cup Team for thirty years and represented the United States in numerous international team competitions, winning a singles Gold Medal at the Wilson Cup and a doubles Silver Medal at the European Clay Court Championships in 2013 in Austria. Haynes regularly competes in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in Tennessee and Southern championships and has captained numerous intersectional teams. The Town of Maryville named the public tennis center in Haynes' honor.
