Chris Brown, born in bred in Chattanooga, had an illustrious junior career. He was a three time Southern Junior Champion in the 13's, 15's, and 16's and was ranked in the top 10 nationally from 1960-1964. He reached his highest national ranking #4 in 1960. He was also selected for the prestigious Junior Davis Cup team in 1960. Chris attributes much of his success to Jerry Evert (Chris' uncle) who was the head professional at at Manker Patten Tennis Club when he was a developing player.

Chris graduated from Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga where he won the TSSAA singles title for 3 years. All TSSAA schools were in one large division at this time. He then attended Georgia Tech on a tennis scholarship. After graduation Chris worked in the textile industry. For the past 24 years he has been the assistant manager at Manker Patten Tennis Club.

Tennis has given Chris a deep appreciation for the lifelong benefits of tennis that include great exercise and numerous friendships.
