Dana Forsyth has been a tennis teaching professional in Knoxville, Tennessee since 1965, working at Tyson Tennis Center (1965-1985), Holston Hills Country Club (1985-2004), and Cedar Bluff Racquet Club (2005 through the present). She is a USPTA Level 1 coach. Forsyth began Knoxville's first junior area-wide development training program for young ranked players. Seventeen of her first twenty-six juniors received tennis college scholarships. She was named Tennessee Tennis Pro of the Year in 1981 and received the USTA Southern Educational Merit Award in 1981. Forsyth has coach many USTA Adult league teams and Junior Team Tennis teams, finishing as a finalist at the Southern JTT sectional championships as recently as August 2017. Forsyth was the Chief Verifier for Tennessee for ten years, during the early days of USTA adult league tennis. Forsyth's record as a player is stellar as well, as she won the Knoxville City Ladies Championships six times and won the Triple Crown three times. She has ranked Number One in the 35 and 40 age divisions in Tennessee and in the Southern section in single and doubles. Forsyth states that her accomplishment and joy is "having the opportunity to instill the love of the sport in my students, as well as the many physical, mental, and social benefits of tennis as their lifetime sport."
