Louise was introduced to tennis as a child by her father. She played recreationally through college and then became actively involved with tennis as a major interest life when she moved to Jackson, MS in 1962. In 1964 she moved to Memphis and joined the University Club and the Memphis Tennis Association. After noticing needs in Memphis women's doubles leagues she organized the Memphis Ladies Doubles Leagues. The league catered to all ability levels. The membership grew to over 1400 women. In 2002, for her work with Memphis tennis programs, Louise was inducted into the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame.
